Pressure is applied to the pedals - it's an accurate, reliable and direct way to measure forces. The Vector 2S Upgrade Pedal measures forces on the right pedal to approximate total power (watts). All the electronics are securely and permanently sealed within the right pedal spindle. It works by measuring the deflection in the pedal spindle as you pedal. The upgrade pedal determines how much force you're applying (a few hundred times per second) and accurately calculates total power (watts).
